building blocks

Working on these toys for our little one, I was wondering if I should paint them with colours. Matilda is on this planet for only six months, so it will be a while before she can play with them, but it’s on my mind. I began to think more deeply about life phases. If I would cover the growing marks of the wood with paint, she wouldn’t be able to learn from that toy the way that trees grow. Every year of a tree’s life, the circumstances of that year are stored in the trunk and the rings serve as the building surface for the next year.
That’s true for our lives, too. When Joey and I started „Reverse Caravan“ we had no idea that a much more significant phase of life was just down the road. We are now a little family, grown together for the rest of our lives and bound with all that that entails. As fast as the little one grows, so do our responsibilities. We are not only finishing „Reverse Caravan“ but also growing our film production company here in Berlin.
So we are getting back to work, though the film might turn out differently than expected. As we learn from Matilda’s building blocks, things go full circle. We thank everybody who believes in us and gave us the kick start for that incredible journey, and what we believe will be a meaningful and beautiful film.

We look forward to sharing our work when it’s ready. Stay tuned!
